(Mt. )Yeongchwisan with the elevation of 1,058m is a gradually sloped mountain sitting at the southern tip of (Mt. )Taebaeksan range and extending into Habu-myeon, Yangsan-si and Sangbuk-myeon and Samnam-myeon, Ulju-gun in the Gyeongsangnam-do . At the foot of the mountain, Tongdosa(temple), one of the only three Treasured Temples in Korea, is located and numbers of old pine trees make the dense forests around the temple. Around the midslope area Carpinus axiflora, Zelkova, and Oriental white oak are abundant and there are communities of Eulalia around the summit area with steep cliffs. The Tongdosa(temple) was established by the great monk Jajangyulsa(temple) during the reign of Queen Sunduk of Shilla Dynasty and keeps many National Treasures and Mounments including Kumgangstairs that contains the relics of Buddha.
